How to Play PAL Games on an NTSC Wii

The Nintendo Wii is region coded into different sections. The NTSC region is for American and Canadian games. The PAL region is for European games. Out of the box, an NTSC Nintendo Wii cannot play a PAL game. There is a disc you can use called the FreeLoader that will trick an NTSC system into playing a PAL game.

  1.   Press the Wii's power button. Remove any disc that is inside the system.
  2.   Place the FreeLoader disc into the Wii's disc drive. Select the FreeLoader by clicking on it with the Wiimote.
  3.   Choose the play "PAL" games option. The FreeLoader disc will eject.
  4.   Insert the PAL game that you want to play. The game will boot up automatically.

 Tips & Warnings

The PAL game saves will save on your NTSC Wii.
   Not all games are compatible.

How to Download and Play PS2 Games on a PC

With the recent advances in emulator technology, demand is growing for classic games that users can play on their computers. While most emulation software is considered illegal, there are several legitimate digital distribution platforms that allow gamers to install and play games from a number of systems--including the Sony Playstation 2--on their computer. Sites such as GameTap, Good Old Games and Impulse allow for this kind of emulation play and are easy to use.

1.  Download the distribution client software from the site of your choice. The install files for this software will likely be downloaded to the "Downloads" folder of your computer. Click on the install files after it has downloaded to install the client.
2.  Select the icon for your client in the desktop to start the program. Find the search option in your program to search for the games of your choice. You will likely be able to narrow your search and look only for PS2 games.
3.  Select the PS2 game of your choice and begin downloading it. After the download is completed, you should be able to play your downloaded game from the client application.
4.  Play the game using your keyboard as a controller. The client program will likely also work with any game controllers and joysticks you connect to your PC.

How Connect PS3 to Laptop via HDMI

The Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) is an entertainment media console that allows users to play their favorite games, watch Blu-ray movies, surf the Internet, view photos, listen to music and more. The HDMI cable, which the PS3 uses to transfer high-definition video from the console to an external device, can be connected to any type of screen, such as a television screen or laptop monitor. With the correct video port, adapter or video card, you can avoid purchasing a HD television and use your laptop as a playback device for your PS3.

 1.  Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your PS3 and the other end of the HDMI cable into your laptop's HDMI port. If your laptop does not have an HDMI port, you will need to identify the video port of your laptop and purchase an adapter or video card that allows you to connect via HDMI. The most popular video ports on laptops are VGA, DVI, HDMI and composite S-Video.

 2.  Turn on your laptop once the HDMI cable has been connected. Powering on your laptop before turning on your PS3 console will allow the console to recognize the video output.

 3.  Power on your PS3 by holding the "Power" button for four to six seconds. You should hear one beep for the initial power-up and a series of two quick beeps after you have held the power button for four to six seconds. Release the power button after you have heard the two quick beeps.

 4.  Wait for your laptop screen to configure with the PS3 console. Most laptops should recognize the foreign device and sync the connection type and resolution automatically. If your laptop does not, consult your laptop manual and configure your video settings to accommodate the PS3 console.

HOW TO READ A MOBILE PHONE SIM CARD

Mobile SIM card reader tool setup usually requires one hardware plus software combination.Mobile SIM card reader tool is commonly used for retrieving deleted or lost phone numbers and text messages with the help of a SIM card data recovery software.
SIM card information reader utility has a capability to display ICC-ID (Integrated Circuit Card identification number) of SIM card with SPN (Service Pprovider Name) and SDN (Service Dialing Numbers). Application recovers lost SIM card messages and contacts with the help of USB interfaced SIM card reader device.SIMcard information backup software is able to retrieve undetected and inaccessible data including inbox, outbox, drafts, sent items messages , contact names and numbers from the mobile phone SIM card.Besides,SIM card reader tool can recover missing data which is lost due to virus infection, human error or any other reason.

You can easily get the SIM card reader from  http://www.zeromartz.com/multifunction-sim-card-reader-usb-p-1104.html for $4.5, and though they usually ship with a software CD, I have not found one that has the right drivers with it. What this has meant for me is prying open the plastic casing and looking at the chip-set manufacturer, subsequently diving into Google to find in the majority of cases a Taiwanese manufacturer hosting the drivers for the reader.
Then comes the software. I recommend Data Doctor Recovery Sim Card from Pro Data Doctor, it has a nice interface and works, which was also a challenge. This will set you back $69.
Once the SIM is in the reader and its connect to the USB port on your computer and working correctly after the drivers have been installed, you can start-up the program and click the magnifying glass icon. You will then be prompted to select the reader type, which in my case is Phoenix technology standard.
You will be asked to define the port, data baud and parity. To determine what port was assigned, I open up the Device Manager on Windows XP and look under modem to find the reader. The baud should remain at 9600 and the parity at even. Once this is done, the software will scan the SIM for data and display it on the screen were it can be viewed or save to a text file.

Connecting your PS3 Online - Instructions

You MUST have a high speed Internet connection. Dial up will NOT work. You will need your logon ID (the ID you log into the service with) and your password.

1. Determine your high speed Internet connection.
a. Cable Modem provided by a Cable Company.
b. DSL service provided by a telecom company.

2. Determine your PS3's access to your high speed Internet.
c. Wired using an Ethernet cable (8-conductor Cat-5)
d. Wireless requiring no cable to the PS3. **

3. Choosing a router. (If you have one connected & working, skip to number 5.)
If you will be using option "c." I recommend you choose a wireless router with at least 4 ports. In case you have a PSP or get a wireless ready device later you are already set up to go.
If you are going the wireless route "d", I recommend the same in case you need to plug a device in directly.

4. "a" Cable modem setup. From your cable box there is an Ethernet cable that plugs into your PC. Locate but don't do anything yet! Follow the "Installation Instructions" that came with your router. Once it is installed and working properly go to step "5."
"b" DSL provided by Telco. From your DSL modem there is an Ethernet cable that plugs into your PC. Locate but don't do anything yet! Follow the "Installation Instructions" that came with your router. Once it is installed and working properly go to step "5."

5. Click: Wireless or Wired, the connection method you chose. The PS3 is supplied with one (1) Ethernet cord, you may need an additional one.
  • My DSL Front view. Rear view.
  • If your PS3 does not support wireless and you can not wire it you will need a Wireless Access Point, commonly referred to as a "WAP". Once you have one follow the setup instructions (very simple) and click the "Wired" link above.
Here is a pic of my WAP connecting to a 360.

If you need additional clarification or I missed something let me know and I'll edit this post to include it.
