How to run PS2 Games on Emulator

A Playstation 2 emulator is a program that enables a computer owner to play PS2 game disks or game files on his computer. As of April 2010, PCSX2 is the only PS2 emulator capable of playing commercial PS2 games. For new users of the program, it can be difficult to know exactly how to open PS2 games with the emulator. Fortunately, once you know what you are doing, the process is fairly simple to understand and repeat.

Instructions

 1. Launch PCSX2. If you do not have it installed, see the download link in the Resources section.
 2. Insert the PS2 game disk into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
 3. Click the "File" menu in PCSX2.
 4. Select "Run CD/DVD." PCSX2 will prompt you to locate the PS2 game disk or ISO file you wish to run. Select the CD/DVD drive containing your PS2 game disk and click "OK." PCSX2 will now load the PS2 game.

If you wish to open an ISO file with PCSX2, you will click "Run CD/DVD" and then browse to the location of the ISO game. Select it, then click "OK."

Warnings

    * You may need to tweak PCSX2's configurations to get the best performance from your system. For a complete guide on how to configure PCSX2, see the link in the References section.

    * You can download ISO files from several different websites, or you can make them from PS2 game disks you already own through the use of a DVD burner.

    *  Not all PS2 games are compatible with PCSX2. For a full list of games that PSX2 will play, refer to the link in the Resources section.

    * It is illegal to download or make copies of any PS2 games you do not already own.
