How to Sync a Wireless PS3 Controller

The Sony PlayStation 3 allows games to use wireless controllers. Unlike the Nintendo Wii controllers, these connect to the system via Bluetooth so the controller does not need to point at it. However, if you have one (or several) Wireless Controller For Sony PS3, you need to sync them up with the gaming system; otherwise the PlayStation isn't going to recognize the device and allow you to use it.

  1. Connect the USB cable (provided with the controller) into the data USB port on the top of the controller. Insert the other end of the controller into one of the two USB ports on the front of the system.

  2. Power on the television and the Sony PlayStation 3. You are going to see a series of lights flicker on the top of the wireless controller.

  3. Press the PS3 button in the middle of the controller. This tells the gaming system it is connected. A single light appears on the controller.

  4. Remove the gaming controller from the PS3. You can now use it wireless. It is also possible to remove the USB cable from the PlayStation if it is blocking your field of view.
