How do I Convert Video From a Spy Pen Camera?

A spy pen camera is designed to store video in internal memory. Viewing the video shot on a spy pen camera requires uploading the video to the computer first. The video can then be converted to a file format native to the computer's operating system using the video program that is built in. The procedure is straightforward and will not damage the spy pen camera or the computer in any way.

Instructions

  • Plug the USB connector on the spy pen camera into a USB port on the PC. Wait for the icon of the spy pen camera to appear on the desktop.
  • Double-click on the spy pen camera icon to open its window. Double-click on the "Video" folder inside of the window that opens.
  • Drag the videos from inside the "Video" folder onto the desktop. Wait as a copy progress bar appears, fills in from right to left and disappears.
  • Right-click on the icon of the spy pen camera. Select "Eject" from the pop-up menu. Remove the spy pen camera from the USB port of the PC.
  • Launch the Windows Media Player program that comes with the Windows operating system by selecting it from the "Start," "All Applications" pop-up menu.

  • Go to the "File" menu at the top of the Windows Media Player program's main screen. Select "Save As" from the drop-down menu.
  • Name the video file that is to be converted in the "Name" column at the top of the window that appears.
